Assembly constituencies

Only relevant for Parliamentary constituencies. A table of Assembly constituencies that are a part of the Lok Sabha constituency can be added.

Members of the Assembly

In a table would be preferable. At minimum, add the member elected in the last election/by-election. The table should be in chronological order (i.e. oldest election at the top and newest election at the bottom).

An example of such a table from Mehal Kalan Assembly Constituency:

Year Member Party
2012 Harchand Kaur Indian National Congress
2017 Kulwant Singh Pandori Aam Aadmi Party
2022

Election results

  • Section each election separately in reverse chronological order (i.e. newest election at the top and oldest election at the bottom). If appropriate, (e.g. there are many elections), then further section by century.
  • In the 'Election results' section of a constituency article, only list candidates who
    1. get more votes than NOTA and
    2. get more than 1% of the total votes polled. and
    3. are in the top 6 candidates in terms of votes polled.
  • 6 candidates (+NOTA)[lower-alpha 1] is the limit of names in the result section. To add more, discuss the proposal at the RetroWikipedia talk:WikiProject Indian politics and get consensus.
  • Candidates who already have an article can be included in the list, based on editor discretion.
  • Refer to this guide to understand how to calculate SWING. [1]
Notes
  1. ECI rules of security deposit in election requires the candidate to get more than 1/6th cast votes to save deposit.

An example

2022

{{#section:Mehal Kalan Assembly constituency|Assembly Election 2022}}

  • If the election results have not been declared, arrange the list of candidates in the Alphabetical order of Political party name. After results are declared, they should be arranged in decreasing order of votes.
  • Template:Election Results table can be used to substitute an empty table into the article.
