Patrick Bass (born February 22, 1969) is an American cybersecurity professional, published author, columnist, podcast host, and former information security executive. He is the editorial director and a columnist for Compute!'s Gazette magazine, where he contributes to its modern relaunch covering retro computing culture. Bass is also known as the creator and host of the podcasts The Patrick Bass Show and Open Mic Mavericks, and for his work in digital risk technologies, including the award-winning InConRadar platform.

Career

Early career and cybersecurity

Before founding his own cybersecurity ventures, Bass served as Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for philanthropist and Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen. In this role, he oversaw the protection of sensitive digital infrastructure across Allen’s corporate and philanthropic entities.

In 2014, Bass founded InfoSecure Redteam, a cybersecurity firm focused on PCI DSS compliance and digital risk management. The company later evolved into Conformance Cybersecurity, a sister company of Conformance Technologies. During his leadership, Bass developed InConRadar, a continuous monitoring service for merchant websites and digital risk factors. The platform was recognized with the ETA's PayPal Tech Innovation Award in May 2017.[1]

Conformance Cybersecurity ceased operations in 2022 after experiencing a significant loss of clients during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Bass was recognized in 2016 by Worldwide Branding for excellence in information security and was added to their international registry of professionals.[2]
