NBCUniversal Media, LLC (commonly known as NBCUniversal or NBCU) is an American multinational mass media and entertainment conglomerate owned by Comcast. Headquartered at 30 Rockefeller Plaza in New York City, the company operates in broadcasting, cable television, film, digital media, and theme parks.
History
NBCUniversal traces its origins to the founding of the National Broadcasting Company (NBC) by the Radio Corporation of America (RCA) in 1926, making NBC the first major broadcast network in the United States.[1]
In 2004, NBC merged with Vivendi Universal Entertainment, which included Universal Pictures, to form NBC Universal, Inc.[2]
In 2011, Comcast acquired a 51% controlling interest in NBCUniversal from General Electric, completing its acquisition of the remaining 49% in 2013 to become the sole owner.[3]
Divisions and operations
Television
NBCUniversal owns a diverse portfolio of television properties, including the flagship network NBC, one of the "Big Three" American television networks. It also operates Telemundo, a major U.S. Spanish-language network, and a range of cable channels such as MSNBC, CNBC, USA Network, Bravo, Syfy, and E!.
The company also owns and operates numerous NBC and Telemundo owned-and-operated television stations in key markets across the U.S.
Film
NBCUniversal's film division, Universal Pictures, is one of the oldest and most successful American film studios. The company is responsible for major franchises including Fast & Furious, Jurassic World, Despicable Me, and The Bourne Identity.

Streaming
